This course, when paired with the Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED course, meets OSHA workplace and other regulatory requirements.

Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration, practice and care-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate. Physical completion cards are an additional $10 (due the night of class).

This sport is a combination of ping-pong, badminton and tennis and is much easier to learn than any of those three. We will get you up to speed in no time so you can feel confident to start playing the game with friends, family, and even complete strangers (not for long!). Paddles and balls will be provided! If class fills, an additional class will be offered at 7:15 pm.

Some are wildly popular and very common growing in gardens and local sceneries. We also will discuss where to buy milkweed plants and seed, plus how and where to add these pollinator magnets to your landscapes. Participants may request an informational folder, native plant book, and be entered into the prize drawing simply by emailing the instructor after class.

  • Purple Pride 5K Run/Walk

    JOIN US for the Purple Pride 5K Run/Walk during Albany Heritage Days! Our run is designed to provide fun for all age groups and levels of participation and is truly an event for the whole family! We will once again use the Race Splitter app for timing and will follow the same 3.1 mile course on asphalt roads and the Lake Wobegon Trail! We will discuss levels of threat and ways to defuse a potentially violent encounter. You will learn ways to defend yourself through attacking weak points on the body and ways to escape holds and grabs. This class is part lecture and part hands-on training. Please wear comfortable clothing and something you do not mind if it is grabbed onto. Ages 12 and up, families are encouraged. Be aware that adult topics and discussions will be presented.
