Huskie Sports Performance-Fundamentals
Please register for all classes by the student's current 2020-21 Grade Level. Note: Group/pod times may change due to registration numbers and MDH requirements. Our office will contact you with any changes prior to the program start date. Huskie Sports Performance-Fundamentals (formerly Fundamentals of Weight Lifting) will provide the most comprehensive performance enhancement training methods for becoming a better athlete. Consistent time and effort spent training in the program will translate into improved performance in any athlete’s respective sport. Athletes will train to develop the following:Athleticism – the ability to efficiently and effectively accomplish whatever physical tasks athletes may encounter.Linear speed– the ability to accelerate straight ahead as quickly as possible.Agility – the skill changing their bodies’ direction in response to what they see happening in a given situation.Elasticity – the ability to express quickness/”spring” off the ground repeatedly.Power – the physical expression of applying high levels of force in a very short amount of time.Strength – the ability to absorb and apply maximal and relative force.Mobility – flexibility that the athletes can control under their own coordination and strength.Stability – the ability to resist outside forces on the body and maintain athletic positions.All athletes will be coached through all aspects of the program designed for enhancing athleticism and fitness: Proper coaching techniques for: - Mobility - Acceleration - Speed - Plyometric Training – Olympic Weightlifting and Strength Training - Agility Training - Core Strength and Stability Enhancement of the physiological systems and movement skills essential to the development of athleticism. Reducing the risk for injury Learning how to train and developing training confidence (improving techniques, understanding of sport training) Building team culture Athletes will be grouped based on age and the workouts will be designed and modified based on developmental level. Pre and Post Performance Testing taken throughout the summer: Vertical Jump 10 and 40 yard sprint Change of Direction testing (5-10-5) Total Body Power Upper and Lower Body Strength Athletes who attend at least 17 Huskie Sports Performance-Fundamentals workouts throughout the summer will earn a 2021 Huskie Sports Performance t-shirt. Program Director: Aaron SchwenzfeierAaron has over 18 years of athletic development/strength and conditioning experience having worked with athletes ranging from youth to professional and Olympic athletes. Previously, he spent 5 years as the Director of Healthy Body and Athletic Development at Athlos Academy St. Cloud. Prior to that, Aaron worked 10 years as the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of North Dakota working with men’s basketball, women’s volleyball, football, women’s soccer, track and field, and swimming and diving. Before UND, Aaron ran an athletic performance training business and was a head high school strength and conditioning coach.Aaron is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is a Certified Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, and is Functional Movement Screen (FMS) certified. Aaron holds a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education.

Albany Area Schools Preschool serves students ages 3-5 in Preschool 1 (age 3 by September 1) and Preschool 2 (age 4 by September 1).
We offer Semi-Private and Private and Preschool Swimming Lessons.

Preschool Camp and Wrap Around Care offers a safe, friendly, structured atmosphere where preschool-aged children are encouraged to pursue their own interests, develop friendships and grow in confidence, independence and respect for themselves and others.
We provide a variety of academic and enrichment programs after school, in the evenings, to enhance your child's social, emotional and physical growth while out of school.
