Rachael Gaebel, Certified ARC Instructor The ARC First Aid class covers topics in First Aid Basics like finding the problem and effectively treating by ARC guidelines using personal protective equipment. This course also covers many topics pertaining to illness and injuries whether it’s a health condition or the result of an accident. This course, when paired with the Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED course, meets OSHA workplace and other regulatory requirements.

Rachael Gaebel, Certified ARC Instructor Over two evenings, this course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child and infant patients. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration, practice and care-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate. Physical completion cards are an additional $10 (due the night of class).

Medical terminology is the first step to any career in the medical field or simply to understand your family’s medical visits. No prior experience is necessary. This highly specialized language involves word building with root words, prefixes, suffixes, and abbreviations. You will leave with a solid foundation of medical language, as well as basic medical billing and coding terminology. After submitting and passing the open-book exam included in the workbook you receive in class, you will earn a Certificate of Completion. Tess Georgakopoulos, Dish it Up Good When it comes to actual sushi that is made with sushi grade raw fish such as salmon or tuna wrapped in rice and seaweed, the sushi tolerance spectrum runs from a very strong “YES” or a very strong “NO” with little wiggle room in between. Enter California “sushi” Rolls that overwhelmingly turn the strong “NO’s” into strong yeses! Join Tess as she walks you through how to make a variety of the most marvelous California rolls that will make you wonder why you haven’t tried to make your own before. California “sushi” roll combinations are only limited by your imagination! Make them vegetarian, with or without seaweed, spicy or not, it is totally up to you! Learn the skill of creating delicious seasoned sushi rice, spicy mayo, and how to stuff, wrap / shape the rolls, with wonderful filling ingredients. One of these fillings is a “crab” salad that will be created using crabsticks. Make it a date night or family night as you create lasting memories in your kitchen! Have your questions answered by the instructor, interact with other participants as you cook along, and increase your confidence in the kitchen with each skill that is learned, and each little bit of advice and instruction that is shared. While cooking-along is loads of fun, and highly recommended, it is optional. Ingredients / supplies in case participants wish to order or shop early for some ingredients: Sushi rice, sushi nori /seaweed sheets, toasted sesame oil, (Japanese) rice vinegar. Additional ingredients will be listed in the information packet that will be received 5-7 days before the class. Bamboo sushi rolling mat can be helpful, but not necessary. The registration fee for this online virtual class can include participants from the same household only. If children are participating, adult supervision is required. A virtual link and instructions will be sent prior to class. Participants will receive a list of ingredients in advance of the class to allow enough time for shopping and preparation. A PDF with the recipes will be shared, and as an added bonus, participants will be invited to a Facebook group where additional recipes are shared on a consistent basis!
