She will also discuss Power of Attorneys, Heath Care Directives, probate, trusts and medical assistance lien recovery.

    Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is a CPR certification class for people in any healthcare field or those going into a healthcare field. This class covers recognition of cardiac arrest, use of a pocket mask and bag valve mask, and doing CPR with one or two rescuers for adults, children and infants. This class also covers the use of an AED and how to relieve choking.

    Let’s carpool to some cool gardens in the Albany area that include prairie planting, perennial gardens, annual beds & more. Tour stops include both public & private property. We’ll end at Shady's Hometown Tavern with light supper and a presentation on MN native plants. Participants will receive; a native plant book, brochures, handouts and chances to win gift certificates from local garden suppliers. The light supper is included and there will be a cash bar available. Tour will start at Albany High School Door 1.
  • Hark the Basement Ladies Sing

    HARK! THE BASEMENT LADIES SING is the latest installment in the Church Basement Ladies musical series. It is December 1960, and members of this rural community have gathered around their reel-to-reel tape player to record a special Christmas greeting for one of their boys serving overseas. As the ladies serve up coffee and cookies, Pastor suffers from a case of stage fright, Mavis smuggles a piglet into the kitchen, a surprise visitor leaves Karin speechless, and the Widow Vivian Snustad gets caught in an embarrassing situation. Throughout it all, you are encouraged to sing along as Beverly Barsness bangs out Christmas carols on the old upright. So come “Fa La La” with the Church Basement Ladies as they deck their fellowship hall.
  • Heartsaver AED/CPR

    Heartsaver AED teaches adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use as well as how to relieve choking. This course is designed for anyone who does not work in a health care setting but has a desire to be able to respond in an emergency situation. You will receive a two year certification for CPR/AED. Offered through the American Heart Association. A certificate of completion will be given at the end of the class. If you need the completion card, an additional $15 will be due to the instructor on the night of the class. 
  • Heartsaver First Aid

    This program teaches participants critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Content includes how to help a victim with bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. Offered through the American Heart Association. A certificate of completion will be given at the end of the class. If you need the completion card, an additional $15 will be due to the instructor on the night of the class. 
  • Heartsaver Pediatric CPR/AED

    These courses are designed especially for parents and/or those involved in childcare. This course also meets Minnesota State requirements for daycare providers. Topics include CPR for children and infants as well as use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Offered through the American Heart Association. A certificate of completion will be given at the end of the class. If you need the completion CARD, an additional $15 will be due to the instructor on the night of the class.
  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid

    These courses are designed especially for parents and/or those involved in childcare. This course also meets Minnesota State requirements for daycare providers. Topics include first aid basics for medical emergencies, injuries, and environmental emergencies. Offered through the American Heart Association. A certificate of completion will be given at the end of the class. If you need the completion CARD, an additional $15 will be due to the instructor on the night of the class.

Pre registration is required.

  • Minnesota Starwatch Party

    Make the stars your old friends as we watch the great celestial show in the skies over Albany. We’ll have giant telescopes aimed at Saturn, Jupiter, star clusters, galaxies, and other great celestial treasures. We’ll also check out constellations like The Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus the Winged Horse, and some of their great stories behind them. Along with visual telescopes we’ll have a telescope- astronomical camera system to really see distant celestial targets on a video screen. Mike Lynch is a meteorologist at WCCO Radio and has been hosting star watch parties and teaching astronomy classes for over 48 years. Even if it’s the cloudy you’ll learn a lot, have a great time! Bring lawn chairs to make yourself comfy!
