This middle school production will give students the opportunity to explore all aspects of theatre while getting time on stage in a fun, supportive, and creative environment. Each student will have a part in the play and will work on technical elements to bring the performance to life for an audience. Practices are Mondays-Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm and students will perform the afternoon of February 8.
Play announced: My Monsters, and I is a one-act play about a boy named Kid who struggles with bottled emotions that manifest as monsters. The monsters include Depression, Anxiety, Change, Failure, and Envy. They appear in the middle of the night and refuse to leave Kid alone. The monsters teach Kid that ignoring his emotions and issues is not effective. Kid learns that emotions and issues can feed off of each other, but can also be processed more positively as growth opportunities.
