    3D Printing: Star Wars - Via Zoom!

    Tech Academy This 3D printing camp takes students through the 3D printing process from start to finish. Students will be designing a keychain, and the 3D print will be mailed home. No experience necessary, but familiarity with doing common tasks using a computer and keyboarding is required. Fees listed include printing fee for one project. Our virtual camps feature engaging interactive instruction in a collaborative learning environment. For each session, students will also be given access to our online classroom, which will feature recordings of the lessons and a curriculum guide with all the steps covered in class, along with instructions for project extensions. To protect students’ privacy, we do not share videos of the actual classes, but we will have follow-along recordings reviewing the instructions and activities done in class. Parents will be given the option to sign up on our classroom page for a reminder email and text before the class begins. We will be using Zoom for all our classes. Home Technical Requirements for all Classes: ● Computer: PC (Windows 7 or later) or Mac (OSX) with at least a 2GHz processor and 4GB of RAM (Chromebooks, Tablets, and phones typically do not work) ● Internet: Broadband internet ● Webcam ● Microphone and Speakers ● Zoom Installed on computer *Additional Technology Required: TinkerCAD (login information provided during class).

    Nikki Myogeto, Albany Area Schools Teacher This cribbage clue is for those that know how to play cribbage and are ready to take on opponents! Students will practice their mental math, observe and continue patterns, solve basic functions, witness probability concepts, and relate sets and combinations. Students will learn how to play with three players and as teams.
  • FAST KIDS – Staying Safe While Home Alone

    Emergency Outfitters First Aid and Safety Trained (FAST) Kids is a course for 7-10 year old students. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, personal safety and healthy living. This course helps prepare children for staying at home alone. Students will receive a book, handouts and a home first aid kit as part of the class. Please bring a writing utensil, snacks, beverage(s), and lunch. Food will not be provided. Parents - please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the end of class to pick up your child.
  • Heart Canvas Painting with Megan

    Megan Gaebel, Albany Area Schools Preschool Teacher Join in the fun making these Canvas Art Projects just in time to give it to your mom or dad for a Valentines day present or keep it for yourself to hang on your wall! Students will get to choose their design and method (paint brush, or q-tip art, then work on completing it during class. In this class, you’ll paint a beautiful canvas featuring our Valentines themed options below. Our instructor will provide easy-to-follow, step-by-step guidance, so all skill levels are welcome.     Char Bzdok Welcome to Ms. B’s Mad Lab, where curiosity bubbles over and science fizzes to life! In this hands-on, high-energy course, young scientists will explore the wonders of chemistry using the scientific method to guide their wild investigations. This session transforms ordinary household items- like baking soda, vinegar, milk, soap and food coloring- into spectacular experiments that pop, fizz, foam and surprise. Snack also provided!

    Tech Academy Join us in this new multi-player Minecraft class as we play this hide-and-seek game. Hunters will work together to find the hidden blocks and animals on our new adventure map. *Additional Technology Required: Minecraft Java Edition.   • PotSpot Painting Fun

    PotSpot Instructors Join PotSpot to paint a fun decoration of your choice. We will provide an assortment of pieces, some with a fall theme. We bring the supplies, you bring the creativity! The PotSpot will fire your piece in their kiln and return it to school in about two weeks. Parents please pick up your child from the art classroom, enter through Kids Co doors (#4 at AVE and #5 at ALE).

    Join us for a heart-filled evening of creativity, sweetness and fun! In this Valentine’s themed youth class, kids will roll up their sleeves and dive into the delicious world of dessert decorating. First we’ll design and decorate festive sugar cookies bursting with love and color. Then, after a tasty dinner break generously provided by our instructor Ms. B, we’ll get back to the fun by crafting adorable Cupid-Inspired cake pops.

This is an ideal age to introduce your children to their creative side. Toddler Art will give your child an opportunity to explore different media; such as paint, finger print art, paper tearing and more! Dig out your old clothes, leave the mess at school and enjoy the variety of art projects we will have for you to work on!
  • Winter Wonderland Family Ball

    Join us for this Winter Wonderland Family Ball! A free family event (for pre-k-5th grade), but you must still register your child so we know how many to expect and so we can reach out in case of weather. A parent or guardian 18+ must plan on staying at this event. Special thanks to Albany Elementary/ELC PTO, Avon CAPS and Albany Area Community Education for sponsoring this event. Thanks to NHS volunteers for helping out as well! There will be a DJ/dance, craft, photo booth, games, cookies and fun!
