  • 6th Grade Soccer Camp

    Albany-Avon Soccer Club Coaches Soccer is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries, making it the world's most popular sport. These sessions will give players the opportunity to explore the game of soccer and practice the skills necessary to play the game. Boys and girls will practice and play together. The first half of practice the players will work on fundamentals and skill development. Each practice will conclude with a scrimmage. Each player should wear black shorts, black socks, shin guards and cleats. October 11 will be a night game under the lights at Albany Softball Park at 7:00 pm. Participants will walk to 6th Street Park after school. Coaches will meet students in the cafeteria the first day of practice.
  • Beginning & Intermediate Wrestling Nights & Open Mats

    Huskie Pup Wrestling Coaches This course is designed to introduce many elements of the sport of wrestling that will lead to success both on and off of the mat. Coaches will help wrestlers of all levels improve their skills and abilities by offering introduction to technique, hands-on instruction, and live wrestling. Open mats will be available as well for more advanced wrestlers. Please register each participant individually. Fee is $75 for 1 participant, $125 for 2 participants in a family, or $150 for 3 participants in a family. Please call to register if you have 4 or more wrestlers in your family.
  • Flag Football

    Keith Arens Get out of the stands and onto the field with youth flag football. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action, while learning lessons based on teamwork. Flag football will be held on the practice football field behind the bus garage and each week will begin with a short practice followed by breaking up into teams for two games. Parent and older sibling coaches are essential to running this program! We will need at least 8 volunteers each week (if you can't make it every Saturday, that’s OK!). If you are interested in helping by coaching or officiating, please indicate that during registration. Parent volunteers will receive $15 off their child’s registration fee and are asked to attend a coach/official’s clinic September 17 at 9:00 am behind the bus garage.     Albany-Avon Soccer Club Coaches Middle School soccer is available for boys starting the first week of school in September and running through mid-October. We will use the AASC jersey from this past summer. If you need jerseys, they can be purchased separately for $25 HERE. Each player should wear black shorts, black socks, shin guards and cleats. Teams will compete against other area teams, including some conference opponents in Central Minnesota. Approximately 4-5 games will be scheduled throughout the season on regularly scheduled soccer days or Saturdays as needed. Transportation to away games must be provided by parents.

Each attendee will receive an assortment of glowing accessories, access to the gourmet s’more bar, and will walk away with fun fall surprises. Bonus: This year, come dressed in your family-friendly costume and be entered into a drawing for prizes! Price: $25/person, $40/pair or $65/groups of 3-4.
  • Huskie Archery Team

    Albany Area Community Education is proud to offer the National Archery in the Schools Program. Both new and returning archery students are welcome! Our trained instructors will focus on teaching proper skills and safety for the sport of archery. All necessary equipment for participation is provided. Only NASP approved equipment is permitted to be used in practice or at tournaments (personal Genesis Bows will be allowed but must be approved by coaching staff prior to use). Practices will be held on Sunday evenings in the BECC. Additional practices may be added, depending on gym and coach availability. New archery team members will be required to do safety training the first evening of class. Tournaments will be held on Saturdays at the below locations. Tournament registration is optional and will be an additional fee of $10 per tournament. Tournament registration and deadlines to register will be shared as they are made available. Parents will be responsible for transporting their students to tournaments. Team members participating in tournaments will be assigned a one-hour flight slot and they will be free to leave after their flight.   • Huskie Pup Wrestling Club

    This program is for both new and seasoned wrestlers! It teaches the wrestlers of all levels the fundamentals of wrestling. Parents volunteers are needed and will receive a t-shirt. All parents must attend the informational meeting on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:30pm in the Albany High School Cafeteria. Please bring your wrestlers as we will be trying on singlets and clothing. Please bring a check for a $35 deposit volunteer fee (refundable at the end of the season if parents volunteer at an event). PreK wrestlers must be 4 years old by September 1, 2022.   • Huskie Pups Volleyball Club

    Coach Hines & Staff Head Volleyball Coach Hines and his staff are offering five sessions to teach and develop the fundamentals of volleyball for 4th-6th grade girls. Athletes will get repetitions of serving, passing, setting, attacking skills. Team serve receive, offense and defense will be emphasized as well. Four-on-four, five-on-five and six-on-six competitions will be incorporated. T-shirts will be ordered after the first session.

    Aaron Schwenzfeier, Strength & Conditioning Coach Huskie SportsPerformance-Fundamentals introduces athletes to developmentally appropriate training with the most up to date training methods for middle school age students. Consistent time and effort spent training in the program will translate into improved performance in any athlete’s respective sport. Monthly sessions will be held from 7:15-8:00 am in the MSHS Weight Room.
  • Junior Pawettes Dance Clinic

    Albany Pawettes Coaches & Athletes You are invited to dance with the Pawettes Dance Team! We will learn skills that the Pawettes use during winter season, play fun dance activities, and learn and perform a routine at the halftime of the Varsity Football Game. A meal will be provided. Participants will need to be picked up immediately following the halftime show by the outdoor stairs near the BECC. Please register before September 9th to guarantee a t-shirt.
  • Quan Li K'an Karate Youth Class

    Adam Patterson, 6th Degree Black Belt & David Torbert 4th Degree Black Belt The beginner class will focus on the fundamentals of Karate which include kicking, punching and forms. The program is taught using a series of group exercises and interactive games. Students will learn basic Karate moves and personal self defense in a fun and fast paced environment with an emphasis on discipline and self confidence. Uniforms are encouraged but are not needed to attend class. Uniforms are required for testing if the student wants to advance to the next rank. New students who register before the third class receive a free uniform.

    Steve Bates & ABC Staff Our youth bowling program is a great way to have fun and stay fit. Bowling promotes learning of math skills by calculating scores, figuring averages and learning mathematical systems to adjust to lane conditions and spare shooting. In addition, organized bowling programs provide life skills such as time management and understanding winning and losing. There are no barriers to participation and no one sits on the bench in bowling. Enjoy three games of fun each session and free use of bowling shoes. Pick your price - $169 with a new ball or other bowling accessory or $139 without. *Bowling will meet at 12:30 pm on early release days and at 3:30 pm on non-school days. Transportation may be available on a limited basis. Please indicate if you request transportation at the time of registration.
